Rachel was interested in baking and cooking at an early age, finding that her favorite afternoon activities included inventing cookie recipes, learning how to make buttercream roses, and trying to make pasta from scratch. After one special visit with her Aunt Mouse during which Rachel got to go behind the scenes and help add the pecans to turtle cakes, it was clear that this was more than just a fun hobby. By the age of 18, Rachel had graduated from both the Baking and Pastry program and Culinary Arts program at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco and knew she had offically found her callling. After living and working in Paris, France, Rachel found her career blossomed baking and decorating at Sibby’s Cupcakery in San Mateo. Not only did Rachel find a wonderful friend in owner Sibby Thomsen, but also found her to be an inspiration. After 5 great years of creating and baking, Rachel left Sibby’s and began baking on the side for friends and family while working as a nanny/personal chef. Soon enough, creating custom cakes became much more than a part time gig, and in Spring of 2014 Rachel opened up shop in her hometown of Burlingame, CA. With overwhelming support from her family and friends, Rachel is truly honored to be serving the Burlingame community, providing the most delicious and beautiful cakes, baked from scratch with her very own recipes.
