Hi, my name is Jodi and I am the owner of Rachel’s Cakes!


For many years, I wanted to pursue a career in the baking and pastry arts. I had to set my dream of being a professional baker and cake decorator aside in order to focus on my love of being a mother and raising my children.


As time passed, the urge to pursue my dreams only grew stronger. I finally made the decision that it was my time to achieve my lifelong dream and go to pastry school.


I am a 2015 San Francisco Cooking School (SFCS) alumni. I was enrolled in the full-time pastry program, in which I went through extensive and vigorous training. I learned a surplus of different methods, went through hands-on training from top chefs and bakers, and learned everything you need to know when it comes to baking.


After pastry school, I then staged at a couple of different custom cake bakeries. It was then that I knew I wanted to strictly focus on custom cakes and perhaps own my own bakery one day.


Landing a job at Rachel’s Cakes as a full-time cake artist had opened many doors for me. Opportunities presented themselves, one of which was buying the bakery with my husband.


I feel proud and honored to be in this position and have the opportunity to take the reins and grow the business to its fullest potential.


I can’t wait for my team and I to continue on this adventure together creating beautiful and amazing cakes for you.

My name is Ricky, I’m 35 years old and I’m a cake decorator.

I have about six years of decorating cakes under my belt, and I can say that I find this job very fun because each cake is unique. I’ve made many cakes for a lot of people around the Bay Area. 

What I love about being a cake decorator is that every cake is special to someone. It’s not just “a cake”, it’s about the memories that people can share in the future. “The cake” is the thing you’ll share with your family, friends, and the people you love. That’s why I always do my best and push myself to be better every single day because that is so meaningful to me. 


My passion? “The details” are what I enjoy the most.


Since I became a cake decorator, I found something special within myself. It fills me with joy to see happy people and knowing that I was part of that happiness.
